I know of the google reinclusion request, but is there one for MSN?
I have a site that is VERY established and has been online for 4 years. I have never had a problem wit it and I am number 1 in every other search engine for all my keywords. I have never used shady SEO tactics and last month MSN just dropped me off the index.
Any advice on getting back my MSN traffic?
Hi,
if you open the "contact us" page, you can fill out the forms and post your email address for an email response. Never tried it myself, but I've seen it reported that you get a human answer.
PS. Are you sure your dropped? Maybe you should post/PM the url first?

WOW.... I never really heard of them banning people before. What did you do???
Hi,
it's true... I've very rarely heard of MSN banning anyone, that's why I wanted to see the url for myself, but cianuro said he/she didn't use any shady tactics...
MSN are the best for detecting cloaking though.... I regularly have a load of strange visitors to my site, that aren't real visitors... I'm sure they are MSN bots. One day I'll make a list....

Paz.

OK, guys. I submitted the request. I have not got a reply from MSN but the URL has been relisted. BUT, its just the URL and not the description.
After doing some research, I think I found the problem. I registered a few other domains, and I used cpanel to add these as addon domains that redirected to the main site. They are all showing up in MSN.
I have done this with many sites before without a problem. I register domains and just park them until i have time to do something with them.
So all in all, it looks like a duplicate content penalty. Just weird the way the penalty happened to the main domain and not the add on domains.
Thanks for your help guys, I know exactly what I need to do to fix this problem now.
Hmmmm.... I have to say I'm not so sure... but if you're happy, I'm happy.... keep us posted anyway.
Cheers,
Paz.

Just an FYI..... I think MSN has indexing issues. I had a site dissappear for about a week then today it's back. The site just wasn't indexed for like 7-10 days and it has over 5K worth of links.

I am still waiting for teh description and rankings to come back.
Until this weeks analysis, I did not realise how hard it had actually hit my sales.
My usual tactic was to optomize for google and the rest would follow and that has been the case for every website I have ever done, and then my oldest website goes ... well, you know.
Oh well. Time to play more of the waiting game.

I just thought I would let you know that I contacted MSN and explained teh situation. I did not get a reply, but my site, description and rankings have now been completely restored.
Sometimes good things do happen in the SE world. :)
Thanks Microsoft.
