http://www.magicyellow.com/Listings/25009069.htm is advertisement site that was made by them (magicyellow) for my client. It has 0PR and no backlinks yet somehow got into the G top 5 for a few keywords that are tough to get into. My question is HOW?

Prudential Realtor (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=prudential+realtor) #4 in google

San Diego Prudential (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&q=San+Diego+prudential+&btnG=Search) #5 in google

and there were a few more like this!

Anyones comments and thoughts are welcomed - PLEASE....
I would like to find out how to do this for my sites.

If you take a look at the backlinks for magicyellow.com they actually have a few links from mortgage sites that have decent PR. This would give them the ability to be in the top rankings if they have their on page really close to the mark and have a few backlinks from real estate related sites, then they should be in the top ten, without any backlinks on the subpage.

This is because the index page magicyellow.com has earned a good reputation so google will "like" the subpage if you will. It's that sort of thing that leads to having about.com in a million of the top ten and tweny spots with only subpages getting rankings.

But even the PR for their home page is only 5.... On the site that the advertisement was for it's a PR4 but no where near as quick or fast as they got it in there and UP there.... ? ?

It doesn't have anything to do with the PR, its the quality of the backlinks, whether we like them or not, google seems to think they are valuable, so if the index page has good reputation then they extend that to any of their subpages.

Ancient chinese secret! J/K. Take a look at Mc Dar's Keyword Tool (http://www.mcdar.net/KeywordTool/keywordtool.asp) and that should give you a little more insight. Actually, that is a pretty interesting way to see the different ways G's algo ranks pages. If I had to guess, looks like the fact that they have 50k pages in their site is helping them out. So you better get crackin'.

Hope Pat Park doesn't see that "Dunn" is not in the title. He used to be very sensitive about that.

<edit>Look at #8 for prudential realtor...hehe</edit>

Oh and chachi, Does 50K pages make it a better site in Googles Eyes?
If I wanted the top rated SEO site then I should make a forum/blog and have 50K + pages with Cold Fusion and it would be better then a few HTML pages?

Sure is SanDiego, even more so when the content is all the about the same general topic. Google would want to send users to a site with tons of content, it's the difference between giving them a book or sending them to the library.

"it's the difference between giving them a book or sending them to the library." thats probably the best way i have heard search engine listings
described.

Very well done.

lol...the librarian. At 7am I guess I have an increased sense of humor.

So if you were to have a goal to create 50k coldfusion pages in the next month how would you go about doing it?

I could probably make 100-500 html pages in that time. But the idea of having 100 times more pages is slightly more appealing :)

Thanks Ed! Hey cool a fellow Canadian! Are you anywhere near West Edmonton Mall? I haven't been there since I was 12 but I remember it really well. Was a ton of fun. The water slides where huge!

Hi seokid the canucks are always trying to be leaders when it comes to the web!!
Info on Edmonton:
West Edmonton mall is a hoot! they rebuilt the main area
of the rides it looks much nicer, the water park is still there
and going strong. Its the only refuge out here during the winter.
Funny though go watch ice skating, or walk 2 more blocks
indoors and watch people bungie jumping and swimming
in the wave pool.

Not a tan in the place LOL!

I do alot of fishing out here and you can find
a picture of me at the site:

Well, I guess it was a thought more then a reality, but couldn't one of those 14 year old kids put together some program that grabs content from sites, parapharses it and quotes the source to keep copywrite safe and then dumps it into a dynamic web page creator that pushes HTML out off this datatbase with all the content?
(by the way, when you get done making this program, I'll buy it..lol) :eyes:
but seriously, yes, that might be difficult. How do you plan on producing 500? ... Just by hard coding them?

Yeah-I was simply going to hard code the pages...not much fun :)

I like your "project" for a 14 year old. If only that could be done.

I know we have all seen Traffic Equalizer and all those spammy crap programs-but is there any way to do a similar thing more legitimate. How can one come up with content quickly and easily?

Thanks
Jonathan

I HAVE seen some of my competitors use Vbasic.net and ASP and CGI stuff and it seemed like every one of their pages in G off the Mcdar tool was something dymnamic like "Search_Result_all.aspx?id=036065466&pt=lnd
" or "PartnerDetail.aspx?ID=15875" So it seems appeearnet that G reads the dynamic pages as well but how did they get G to do a search???
