When setting up inbound links,

If it is a keyword targeted link, should I set the link to go towards my home page, or the relevant page for that keyword on my site?

I am currently working to test some theories about this with a couple sites now.

But, I believe that it depends what you are looking for.

It seems that PR is by the page, so the home page would benefit indirectly (but not as much) if you link to another page. So, some people only want links to the home page for the higher PR.

But, the reason for having the keyword in the link is to convince the SE spider that the page being linked to is about the keyword used in the link.

So, my oppinion is that if you are asking for a link using a specific keyword, point that link to the page that will benefit from that link. Even when it is not the home page.

P.S. If I learn anything drastically different from my tests, I'll post them.

Hey thanks Robert, I would like to find out what you learn as well.
Keep me posted!

At 1st you should get the links to your home.
Until you have at least a PR5 it's better to do this.
Once you get a decent home PR, you can then get the links to the specific pages.
