Linking to home page ...

I have a question about linking back to home page from internal pages.

Supposing i'm trying to achieve high ranks for 3 different keywords on my index page and i would like to put on every internal page i have on my site 3 links each one pointing to home page and each one using as anchor text one of the 3 different keywords i'm targetting.

Now i want to know if this is not considered a spam technique in any way.

I dont' believe that will cause any problems.

I would not put all three links right next to each other, but I do that on many pages with problem.

i though so since i saw many sites doing it, mostly at the bottom of the pages, within the copyright notice ... something like: Copyright (c) <a href="http://www.site.com">Keyword Keyword1</a> operated by <a href="http://www.site.com">Keyword 3 keyword4</a>

SEO Sensey, My perception is that only the first link to a page warrants any credit, but I really don't know for sure.

i wouldn't worry about it that as much as getting the inbound links with those keywords as anchor text. you could probably combine them (at least 2) into one anchor text.

That's what I heard too about the first link being the only one that is counted.

An interesting test though would be to use anchors hehe
www.domain.com/#top
www.domain.com/#middle
www.domain.com/#bottom
Technically 3 destinations, all the same page.
Its just interest though, I think thats kinda spammy hehe

casualy i really use link anchors on my site :)
regarding the spammy ideea ... i wont be stuffing my pages with many backlinks to home page, i would use let's say 2 :D
