Could anybody explain the relationship between Page Rank which is the "value that Google places on your webpage and the SERP's for that page.
Does one have a directly proportional effect upon the other?
To get the SERPS is the most important thing the "keywords" and internal optimisation of your page, and if so how long would that take to show the results?
Thanks

I think Keywords of the anchor text from the links coming into your site are the most important for ranking well.

Hai, I have just only started this week to optimize or even think about optimizing my site, I have done absolutely nothing to it, and I ahve a page rank of 5. I am amazed.
I just am getting into the SEO arena. In fact I am so much of a newbie I am now going to research what exactly "anchor text is".

Page Rank doesn't really have much to do with how well you rank for a certain keyword, if you have page rank and nothing else it means google thinks your site is great, but has nothing to say what your site is great about... meaning you won't rank well for anything.
There are more than a few theories out there for what makes a site rank in the top 10 and I have my own, but the best theory out there....
Do the best you possibly can for your site. Write useful content for your visitors, write very accurate and descriptive titles and descriptions, get back links with different keywords (change them up, use different keywords) in the anchor text from good relevant sites, DON'T try to game the system and you should do well. Good luck with your efforts.

That's good stuff, very well stated. I might have to steal it. (smiley here)
