Why submitting articles is the best way to advertise?

Article directories are a great way to get a business recognized. A business owner who seems informed about their business and their customers will get a boost in sales. People like to buy from someone who knows what they are doing. Writing articles lets customers know the business owner is doing more than selling a product, they are selling a product they understand and believe in.

I think the most easy way to get free traffic on your website is to submit your own written articles on different websites. Visitors daily read new articles and are happy to visit author's website. I do the same and i am getting much better traffic than any other promotional method.

It is, and I've submitted probably well over 100 articles, but my opinion is starting to change.

I have created a couple sites now that have ranked very well with no articles at all. There are other ways to establish good one way backlinks, IMO. If you gain the backlinks elsewhere, you can keep the articles for yourself so you have good, original content rich pages.

I am not in favour of Articles submission .It take time to publish and sometime with out your link they publish them. I am mostly work on page factors , Directory submission and link building.

You are taking it in another way. Article submission does not take so much time as you have said and also they put your link on their site. Also dont emphasise on directory submission and link building all the time. I konw it is essential, but try to spread your contents and information also. It supports for your product's advertisement.

I am agree with both of you.But few article sites really not publish your hyperlinked URL.So when you are not getting links ,it is pure waste of time.

article submission is a good source of one way link let say you have a nice article and 1000 webmaster used it in their site then automatically that's 1000 one way link.

Yep, article submission is a good way to generate traffic. But it is very important to submit fresh articles, if your articles are new compared with other sites then it is very useful, but if your articles are not fresh then it may not give good results.

that's a really good point. it's a major bummer when you find people downloading your articles and not give you the links!!!

the most effecient use of your time, IMO, if you are going to submit to article directories is:

Goarticles
IdeaMarketer
Amazines
The Article Hub

pretty much in that order. Because these are the article directories that get the most action and you are more likely to be downloaded from one of them.

Articles are really good for a limited time to gain traffic and populate your website within search engines with article.

Articles are good no doubt, atleast you can get one way link. And if your article will have really good information then it is a + (plus) for your site.

With Jagger update I have noticed that Google is giving less importance to Blogs and Articles than it previously was.

Press releases may hold more value. One way linkage and larger exposure for traffic.

I agree!! Yes if we are submitting to few GOOD articles directory,then it is helpful,particularly for a brand new site!! I hope sony wud be agree this time.

Please dont mind and be agree that articles are really helpful when you are getting links.As far as time is concerned few directories like ezine etc take only few days for a good content.Beacuse they also need good content on there site!!

It will help in branding your site & also it helps in developing uniqueness of your article.
