Ya sure! but it is dificult to implement because you have to rewrite the URl of site in .httaccess folder in server side. I dont have too much knowledge of that. but check this
http://seo-expert-delhi.blogspot.com/. This will definately help you.
And yes spider crawl these pages. Check this one wwx.foxfireprinting.com This is dynamic site but we rewrite its url .This is good example of promoting dynamic site
Thanks,
Soni

Dynamic pages can be crawled with Mod Rewrite or URL rewrite. You'll need to create a sitemap in xml and submit it to Google thoruh Google Account. Tha'll help your dynamic pages get crawled.

Ya, I like to use URL rewrites for all my dynamic pages. I have found the use of friendly names to be a good way to go.

I have a couple of articles about how I do URL rewrites at:
http://www.dynamicajax.com/fr/URL_Rewrites-2_234_261.html and
http://www.dynamicajax.com/fr/Friendly_URL_Rewriting-2_234_261_305.html

You can see that I didn't take full advantage of the friendly name on that site, but a new site that I'm getting started (http://www.osCommerce-SSL.com) does the friendly URL's exactly the way I like them. All the content on those pages are generated through a single index.php page even though the URL's are all .html

I think few of our friends are confused.Because i have a new dynamic site and i am not doing any mod rewrite and pages are well indexed.I dont know why few peoples are relating dynamic pages with mod rewrites. Is it necessary ??? I wud like to see moderator answer here!!

No mod rewrite is not essential, but it is helpful in getting pages crawled more quickly and frequently. Seach engines seem to get through url's with a variable or two with little problem.

My rule of thumb is, that if the majority of the pages are already indexed I don't rewrite the url's unless there's a overhaul of the content or structure. If the majority are not indexed I rewrite them and always do now on new sites.

The other thing about dynamic url's is that any pr that is shown is unreliable.

The other nice thing about URL rewrites is that they allow you to keep your URL's if you decided to change the underlying structure later on. I think that it's just a good idea to use them even if it doesn't make a huge difference in the search engines.

Yep, seo can be done for dynamic pages. It will give good results. If seo is done for dynamic pages then it helps in getting traffic & improved spidering.

When seo is done for dynamic pages then keywords are added in those pages, it results in improved traffic.

Hi Soni,

I think the URLs generated with the mod_rewrite are called as canonical URLs and these canonical URLs may tacked by Big G! as spam according to the recent BigDaddy update. Correct me if I am wrong...

Thank you,

Yeah,
All of you are missing one thing.
This is important::
write your Title and Meta tag with variables...
