How long do you have to wait? After optimizing your text finding many many sites to link back to you how long does it take to start showing up in the serps. I mean the first page of google. If you're ranked high in allinanchor: and allintext:, how long do you have to wait?

Most SEO gurus say to wait 2months from initally optimising until you can safely say you have steady rankings.

It depends on a lot of factors. Page PR will get it crawled quicker for example.
Some changes will appear in a few days, some will take a while.
It seems that easy keys will react faster and competitive will take longer.

Would that mean that if you changed your keywords and you had a decent page rank you would then get your appropriate ranking quicker than if you had no page rank or a lower page rank *in general*? It would make sense, and has a logical continuity to it.

Page rank really has nothing to do with KWs. It is backlinks linking into you. The higher the page rank you achieve the more often Gbot will crawl your site. In addition, if your site is modified regularly... Gbot likes that too and will come by often to see what you are up to.

HI SEOAM, so on that theme then what would happen if you completely revamped your website and what would happen if a person had a nice and high SERPs? Would it completely cause him to loose his position? This is of course assuming that he kept the keywords and at least some of the text and suchlike and obviously the same domain and same backlinks etc.etc.

Zeno, if you totally re-write a page, but do not change the url, Google will assess the page as if it is modified not new. That will not affect your PR, but would very likely affect your SERPs position for the keywords even if they were the same keywords.

If you modify a page that is deep, point to it with a PR5 for a little while.
It will get crawled quicker and you will see the changes to it faster.
If you completely modify a page, (just did it for my home), it may take a little while before you lose or gain ranks. It took about a week before my keys started to drop after I removed them.
