Hi,

you and me both!

It's early, but in my market, they seem either to be placing too much emphasis on keywords in the url, or placing less weight on forum backlinks, which may not be a bad thing.

I notice the serps are starting to align with Google's....

Cheers,
Paz.

I slipped not too long ago but I always seem to bounce back. Most of my terms have bounced back from the last time I slipped.

SEO is an ongoing battle, you have to keep working on optimisation and getting new links so as to keep ahead of your competition. Just think that however hard your competitors are working on their optimisation process you need to work slightly harder!

Good Luck

"they seem either to be placing too much emphasis on keywords in the url"

not just the url...
the site with the most improved serps in my industry has a kw density of above 13% on its homepage and its climbing up like google stock during the last 3 weeks. Spam be damned, just stuff kws on your page like you stuff your thanksgiving turkey and you'll land on the first page in no time in MSN... and nope, you won't be penalised.

Big G, now thats a totally different story.

I'm also slipping in MSN now. I was number 1 for my main keyword, now I've slipped to number 5. They must be performing an update.

The new number 1 has a much higher keyword density. I dont want to follow suit as it could lead to being penalised in other search engines. I agree MSN favours spamming techniques compared to yahoo and google.

Hi,

I don't normally bother about MSN because even when I was # 1 for everything, I got very little traffic in my market (travel), but I'm appalled at the keyword densities on the top 5 results today.... out and out spam.

I'm sure this is one update that won't stick!

Cheers,
Paz.

I have not really had any problems holding out with my aquarium fish site. Now that Big Daddy has been nice to my site and it is starting to rank better im Google. MSN traffic just isn't quite the same. Google ranks me for 2 search terms and I pass up MSN traffic and all the many search terms I rank for in that SE.

Did you ever wonder why I don't really bother following yahoo or msn... cause a #10 on google brings more traffic than a #1 in those two combined...

I'd love not to have to bother about MSN and Yahoo too and just concentrate on Google. But when you dont appear on the first 15 pages for your main keywords in google and theres nothing you can do to improve you have to concentrate on MSN and Yahoo!!!

Did anyone else's site return to their previous position in the SERPs yesterday once MSN had been restored. My site had slipped from number #1 to number #6 for one of its main keywords.

Then yesterday, the MSN search engine went down for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Then when it was restored my site was back up to number #1. Anyone experience anything similar?

Some are back, it isn't quite the same, but similar, to the old title and back link combo...

But My Website Got Good Rankings Now in MSN. And Half of the Traffic is Coming out from MSN only. I don't think Its Slipping now - atleast for my website.

I am finding myself paying less and less attention to Yahoo! and MSN. They just don't deliver the traffic to make it worth the effort.
