Not old pr... across different dc's, etc... I know I've been seeing a pretty decent variation for quite awhile now. I hate to get my hopes up because.... mcdar is about the slowest thing I've seen in forever (smiley here)

Yeah, it's new. I saw increases on a few sites.

The only new thing I'm seeing is what was seen on different dc's after the last update but hasn't yet been seen in the toolbar until now. I haven't checked the dc's though.

haha well it's 2,458 now because I just got a couple of posts in the introductions forum! Don't forget it's quantity, not quality that counts... :p

Yes, I noticed new PR on some .co.uk domains on Sunday night. That's a month or two early; I wonder if Google are going back to more regular toolbar updates.

I think Joc is missing from this thread... somebody go wake him up!

Q: “Now that Bigdaddy is out, will there be a new export of PageRank anytime soon?” and “Will the deployment of BigDaddy stabilise the rolling PR issues we are experiencing at present?”
A: I’ll ask around about that. If there aren’t any logistical obstacles, I’ll ask if we could make a new set of PageRanks visible within the next couple weeks. I’d expect that as Bigdaddy stabilizes everywhere, the variation in toolbar PR for individual urls is more like to settle down too.
Mcdar just hangs forever. Used this tool:
http://www.seologs.com/pr-check/pagerank-dc.html
I'm getting some pr4 and some pr0. Are you sure that the DC aren't just displaying old values?

I don't see any changes - what are you talking about ?

Question, not that often we have so many experts on at once. I was under the impression that the use of a tool like http://www.seologs.com/pr-check/pagerank-dc.html was not to be used. thought that was in Gs rules. Did something change?

Automated checks (without using the API) are against the rules, but I'm not sure if a simultaneous query across different datacenters is. The McDar tool's been running for years with no problems.

Anyway, after this "infrastructure" update is over I'm sure the datacenters will align more rapidly, and there'll be less demand for these tools.

Cheers,
Paz.

Or it could be the opposite, at least with pr. By showing various pr on different dc's might suit their purposes, and then in turn those tools would be the only way to get a decent look.
