suppliment results are those pages which are cahed by google or present in database of SE. but not on server. that`s it shows suppliment results. and they are harmful . so plz befor removing any page from server check whether that page is indexed or not.

Supplements pages are those pages, which are not crawling by google since a lot of time. Supplement pages are not crawled by the google. You can find any site pages are supplement or not by searching this commaind in google
site:domainname.

Supplements page may be not present in the server but those pages would be also suppliment which are currently present on server. I give you some example:

see it - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&rls=GAPB,GAPB:2005-09,GAPB:en&sa=G&q=site:tourmyindia.com

Here Google shows 3 pages are supplimental, but all pages are currently present on server and also good come at yahoo or other SE. You can check it.

Hey amit if they are not crawled then how comes in Search results? Iagain say Suppliment pages are pages which are Indexed in google but do not exist at this time. But during searching for a particular thing they are shown in the search result pages. These pages provides additional information about the particular search.

Perhaps you have not read my previous thread carefully. I have cleary mentioned that those pages are comes at yahoo and other search engine, I am not mention that those pages are comes at google during searching.

But how you can say that supplimental page are not exists at this time. You are right that supplemental page may be not exists at this time but it is also correct that supplimenal page would be currently running on the server. Please again consider on the following example :

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&sa=G&q=site:tourmyindia.com

Google shows 4 pages of site, in which 3 page are supplemental. But when you open these pages all pages are running at currently time.

This example shows that it is not neccessary that supplemental page are not running at this time, those pages are also be supplemental which are existing at server.

Hi,

Can I just clarify a little about what the supplemental index is.

Google's supplemental index is usually made up of stale, orphaned pages, almost like an archive. They have a separate main index which should provide enough quality results most of the time, but if that's not the case they will return a few results from the "backup" supplemental index. When this happens you'll see "supplemental result" in blue text on the SERPs page, which is like saying; "this is the best we could do.."

It goes without saying, having lots of pages going supplemental is a disaster for a web site, but it's happening to a lot of webmasters at this time.

supplement pages are just useless pages which is created for the seach engines to get more traffic in search engines.SE's crawlers cache regularlly that pages but when your site will ban u dont know.
always avoid this .....

The supplementary pages are non considerable pages but pages are still in the database of SE, they are consider as a supplementary result pages, sometimes they might be deleted from Server but sometime they still on the server,
