I have a header graphic in two <td>'s on my page that causes the browser to scroll horizontally when in 800 x 600 or when the IE sidebar is open.
One graphic is 470 x 87 and the graphic in the next <td> is 434 x 87.
I've resized it to 800 x 87 but still get the same problem.
What max width size I can use?
Thanks

780px usually works for me - thats as long as your table has no cellspacing or padding ;)

Thanks Gbyte,
I don't have any cellspacing or padding but *do* have a margin of 3% in my css. Been playing around and looking like 760 is where I'll have to be.

Well it depends on your market. Size itsn't the whole picture, D/L time plays a part in it too, depending on your target market.
MY site has HUGE pics on the index page, but my site is geared college students, so DSL is the norm....
Just my 2 cents
