Hi all
Yahoo! Slurp Spider has just been hitting my newish site and I was wondering how long would it take to actually get listed in yahoo
Also while I am here how much traffic do you guys get from yahoo these days - its about 32% less than google for me
Thanks for your time

Yahoo slurp usually updates the serps MAX 2 weeks but often sooner
Yahoo traffic licks balls for me, maybe 10% and I rank #1 for everything there

Yahoo was much quicker for me to hit #1 than in google, so Yahoo gives me more traffic at the moment :)

yeah ditto. I havent paid any attention to getting high rankings on these search engines; I've just concentrated on google and its happened naturally.....not on the first page for google at the mo though Grrrrrr. I have a friend also who is no1 - no 10 ( different sites same company ) on yahoo and whatever. Still doesnt generate much business. When he had one site on the first page on google he made loads more. Updates and bad design have cost him loads.

I'm usually placed pretty high at yahoo, but only for terms and keyphrases that are at the begining of my <title> tags.

Yahoo places my client sites into the index within 3 days of "Slurping". I've seen Google do the same IF the page or site in question has a (and I hate to say it) High PR.

Is the yahoo slurp ignoring headings? It has been crawling my site recently and it seems like it is ignoring (or penalizing) keywords found in headings even though those keywords were in the title, description and keywords list, along with being the main subject of the page. If so, should I use my robots.txt in order to send Yahoo slurp to pages where those headings would be replaced by normal text in bold?
