Google crawled the site a few weeks ago and all pages got listed. Then a few weeks later the homepage got a PR3.

We could see a few links some of which were PR4 at best.

Then I went on a link campaign trying to find relevant site on gardening, garden equipment and directories under gardening. We also started ads with overture and suddenly I typed the domain name as a search in google and find about 200+ entries most of which have ads on to my site.

Now I take a look at the links and we have two, one of which is my own site and the other is a PR2 gardening site.

We have also dropped in the google search results on most keywords but the PR hasn't gone down yet.

Where did the links go?

We are not worried at the moment, but would like to get this sorted for next years gardening season.

This update is not typical. Backlinks are out of wack and PR did not move for no-one... Don't worry about this.

SOMETHING IS HAPPENING AT biG LAND
but... we should probably just wait for the next update and try and see if it's just a little bypass or a new direction...

I will keep my eye on the backlinks then to see if they come back.

I see where Jocelyn says that this update is not typical. How do you know when the update did or will take place? I lost 11 links myself. This is only with Google. With other engines, I gained links. I go to http://www.linkstoyou.com to check the links to my site and Alltheweb and Altavista are increasing while Google has decreased and msn remain constant. Is there a canned explanation?

I just tried linkstoyou and none of the search engines show my new links. You really do have to be patient in this game don't you. Some of the links have been on for 8 weeks now. Google did list some of them previously but they have gone now.
