How long does it take in google?

Dear SEOs

I newly lunched website, and sumbit some the major search engine directly, but only lycos and msn has index my site after 10 days.
I think that will reduce my PR too..?
how long does it take in future?
any suggestion?

As you probably have read, submitting a site to the SEs is not neccessary and is not a way to be indexed. The best way to let SEs know about your site is to have a lot of links to it from other sites. So start link-building or keep it on if you have already started.

Try to exchange link with a High PR site, that could help you to index your site quickly...

It takes as long as it takes them to find your site, spider it and index it ;)

i don't have any idea how long for Google to index a page but in my experience, getting more back links and having your links as a forum signature can help a lot to index a page easily :)

if you can get a high PR back link may be PR6 or above then your site has chances of getting indexed in 2-3 days by google..

Google indexed me within a month, but as for my keywords, well I'm not even in the top 1000 yet. : (
I'm trying the backlink thing with forums and articles submission to many directories. Hopefully that helps.
