Hi

Could you guys review my site and tell me what is it that I´m doing wrong?

1. Site: http://www.easy2loan.com/
2. Keywords: Mortgages in Spain, Spanish Mortgages
3. SEO Work: Nothing much, except the typical use of keywords in between tags.

It used to be a Nº1 lisitng for the keywords mentioned, but after the November Florida dance, it doesn't show anymore. I've been using the ranking tool at digitalpoint.com for some months and I've seen it from time to time climbing to a position of 170 and dropping again from the first 10,000 places.

I'm sure there must be something terribly wrong with this site, but I haven't a clue what it might be.

Any ideas?

Thanks

A search for "Spanish mortagages" only yields 376000 results, i see no reason why you shouldnt be able to get closer than 170 by adding more backlinks to your existing site. You could have made life easier by having the words "mortgages" and "spain" in your domain name. Websites rank better when keywords are in there domain name

l234244, thanks for your reply.

I think the problem is other than the few existing backlinks. Note that the site was Nº 1 for these keywords a couple of months ago. A rank of 170 would be OK, it would give me something to start from. But the site does not rank at all!

Regarding populating the domain name with keywords, I would have to change the name of the company to include the keywords. I'm not too fond of generic domain names, as I believe that a brand is important.

I think the site is penalized, or at least some keywords are filtered out. Doing some checks, it looks as if "Spain" and "Spanish" are left out.

Hello Flow, just indicating what happened to me was that I stopped my link campaign for 2 months whilst I was starting a new site and my competitors took my number 1 spot. In parallel to this I checked my existing link partners and noticed quite a high number 15% ish using shady techniques to prevent google from finding these, either taking down the link altogether which is crap or even worse insulting my inteligance by taking the link from there homepage to their partner sites down. So when you go to check there is still a link on their partner site URL the link is still there but no way of the visitors or googlebot to find it. Learnt a very valuable lesson there - getting reciprocating links is not the most important thing but maintaining them.

Backlinks are important, but not having them can get you out of google? My site is running low on backlinks, as it is quite an old site and no partnerships have been established for years, so the existing ones have slowly disappeared.

I am really desperate trying to find out what is wrong with this site. I am thinking of throwing it away and building another one form scratch with a different domain name.
