Finally got round to getting broadband. Yeah I was one of the dial up plonkers before the insults start - should have got this ages ago.

Well I got Cable a few years ago from the junky Comcast. There Cable TV service is great but Internet I hate. To many rules, Not the most reliable service you'd expect but hey it cost less then T1.

I am glad people are migrating to Broadband because most my sites I design your hair will turn grey before it loads on dialup LOL. I see more and more sites "Made for Broadband" now days then ever before. Lot of Flash sites. Someday the whole WWW will be Flash and they will cut the cord on Dialup.

I can't sit and stare at a Dialup equipped computer. Had cable for years. Hourglass, process gauge... can't put up with them anymore. A 3k transfer download for a windows update must take forever.

When a site is under 50k transfer, I figure it's slow or many hops to connect to me. We get used fast to stuff, like the microwave, it's so long 1 min. to warm up a soup... LOL

Broadband DOES rock ... now after about 6 months of that, try going BACK to dial-up ... if you think it stinks now, I bet you'll say it stinks even more then! ;-)

Oh I was thinking of getting T1 lines installed in my house since I run my own servers and the upload speeds beat any Cable, DSL, etc speeds on uploads.

Yea, upstream is an issue if you are doing that - I have Comcast Cable in Colorado and I see 4 Mbps downstream ... but there is a cap at 256Kbps upstream. Not an issue for most surfers, but WOULD be an issue for you of course.

Unfortunately, T1 is a bit more expensive than cable.
