Hi everyone,

I need some help with a new site I have created, and I trust your
judgement over other forums I have access to, so here goes.

First off, its not a porn or adult oriented site. Its a site
targetting to gamers. Specifically, the game Counterstrike.
Here is the site address:

http://www.counterstrikeservers.com

What my objective with the site was, is to have a list of
CounterStrike Server providers, as well as a list of CounterStrike
Clans that gamers can join and experience the game better from
learning from more seasoned players than themselves.

OK, lets see if I can list most of the things I have tried to
accomplish already.

I have changed the site from regular html to a cascading style sheet.
I have moved most of my Javascript off to a separate file.
I have tried to use a good internal linking structure.
I have not spammed my keywords all over the site, but have
tried to concentrate each keyword for a specific page.

a Example would be the keyword "Counter Strike Clans" I tried
to target for the clans, page.

I have left out a lot of the stuff Google doesnt pay attention
to in the Metatag department, which I feel has made my pages leaner
and more focused.

I have tried to optimize any pictures I have to decrease their
load times, and I have also tried to use just text links with
no graphics, to help with the load time of the page as well.

Now here is why I am fustrated. I have gotten a few sites with
PR ratings of 5-6, and 7 to link to me. Thus Google's Freshbot
has come to my site at least once a day, for the past three weeks.

Its now indexed my entire site into its index, but its now showing
me in its database for ANY of my keywords.

I have links to my site from other sites with relevant content.
I have tried to link my site with good structure. I have tried
to follow most of the rules Im aware of. So whats wrong?

If anyone can take a look at my site and see what I have done wrong,
or could help in assisting me, I would greatly appreciate it.

I find myself everyday going over SEOGUY's Tutorial trying to find
something I didnt do right.

Again, thanks in advance. Sorry if this sounded like I was carrying
on, but at the moment, thats how I felt. Its just annoying to find
sites that are one page spammer pages, and they rank #1, when I follow
the rules and have NOTHING to show for it.

Thanks in advance again.

Ok... is it me or your site is pretty new. It show no backlinks yet.
Counter Strike is pretty competitive. Has 3.8 M documents.
You'll need some backlinks and PR backup to win this fight.
Get backlinks and be patient, aim for more smaller phrases.
Once you have more backlinks it will get better.
You might also want to put a bit more spider food.

Hi Jocelyn,

Thanks for the reply. Yes the site is brand brand new. Its only been up for 3 weeks, but since the day it went live, Google has been at my site with Freshbot every day.

Im I right in assuming that Freshbot is Google's finder of new sites, and you need a Deepbot to really index your site? Im a bit confused with them as well.

Here is another question for you then. Why do spammer sites get indexed IMMEDIATELY! These one page redirects get on my nerves, and are usually shot right to the top ten spots.

Ok, thanks for your repsponse. Where and how would you suggest I put more "spider food"?

What people call freshbot is the everyday spidering of the index and sometimes index + links on it. You get the freshdates... from that... new pages gets indexed too. They just don't get a PR before a deepcrawl.
The deepcrawl is basically when all your site gets spidered. This usually takes place one a month. You then get the PR and backlinks update...

I'd put a bit more on the description in the center. Give a more elaborate one to allow you to fit a few more 'counter strike' in there make it stick out a bit. Talk a bit more about the sections and what's to be found for example... good for users and good for spiders.
Your homepage is the most important page of your site.

I'd bet that once your pr and you're backlinks show up that you'll be at least listed in google for your keywords after following Jocelyn's advice, also what do your backlinks have for anchor text? Too many of the same anchor text in your backlinks can get you filtered as well, I usually try to stick to 25% backlink density. Other wise you're on your way to the top listings.

What does this mean?

that 25% of your page links to yoursite.com/page1.html are the same? so you have to have at least 4 different phrases pointing to a page?

That's hard if the page is on your navigation

What do you suggest?
