Problem with Google Indexed Text...

Hello All
My site just got spidered this weekend (strangely enough from this forum but now PR) and the description that google is showing has completely skipped my META Descriptions and went for a scrolling marque that I have on my site and that is not what I want.

Any ideas on why this would have happened? This concerns me :eek:

Getting spidered and getting PR are 2 different things Jamy. PR only updates once every 28-35 days and you can expect to wait 1 or 2 updates before PR shows.

As for your meta description thats no big deal. Google does not by default show your meta description what it does is show the most relevant snippet of content taken from your entire cached pages code based on your query. Dont be concerned its normal. Search for different terms for my site "SEO Company" shows

"SEO Company Services Include: Search Engine Optimization *SEO* Internet marketing, SEO consulting, pagerank, link popularity, Search engine positioning, Search
"

While "SEO Expert" shows

"Articles discussing the Google pagerank algorithm and how it applies to SEO Google Articles Every SEO that is worth his salt will become a Google expert as it ...
"

Bottom line nothing to be concerned with :)

Incidentally the same page ranks #1 for both those terms :D
