Hi All,

Its true and known to everyone that supplemental pages are not good for site health and we should try to avoid and remove as mush as possible.

But my Q is that "is it possible to have google rankings with a supplemental page" ????

What you guys think? As you know that if you have a big portal with few million of pages ,then it is almost impossible to completely remove your site pages from supplemental index ,particularly now a day!

So is it not better to target small keywords through these supplemental pages?

well my opinion is... you can change your content and create more unique... and wait till you site get index... and it will not be supplemental anymore...

No, because rankings are primarily reserved for the regular index (RI) and supplemental pages are not included in the RI unless there are no other good choices to retrieve. I don’t know of anyone that would be very proud of being #1 in the (SI) but since you could not not figure out your ranking in the SI, its not worth the effort.

Hmmm portals, do they even deserve to be in the regular index any way?
