As part of my SEO I am trying to redirect a number of alternative spellings of my domain name. The reason is that they are currently pointing straight at my home and have been listed by Yahoo. So I will get penalized soon if I don't get it sorted.

So I have set up the redirect on my 1&1 control panel except it does nothing, 1&1 say its working OK.

The url being redirected is

www.gardenforless.co.uk

It just hangs for me, can people tell me what happens for them.

Hi RTM,

I think you need to remove those active links to my site.

I was asked yesterday not to include active links.

Ok so why does it work on some and not others ?

My laptop works over mobile 3G card, but my desktop doesn't.

:o sorry about that, fixed it now.

I have just tried firefox, mozilla, IE6 and lynx, all of which redirect properly. Lynx indicates that it is a 302 redirect, which is temporarily moved. Possably you should be using a 301 (permenantly moved), unless you want to go back to the forless domain in the future.

It's a long shot and I'm just guessing, but try clearing your cache and typing in the forless domain.

I already tried clearing the cache and that wouldn't explain why xan had the problem as he probably hasn't visited my site before.
