Waddle,
When it comes to rewriting url's there's really no difference between ASP and PHP. The actual rewrite dll is attached either to ISS or Apache. If you server is running on a windows machine then you will most lickely use something like IIS Rewrite from Qwerksoft or use Mod Rewrite.
For some good examples about IIS Rewrite please visit the following:
http://www.qwerksoft.com/products/iisrewrite/IISRewriteDocumentation.htm
The entire process is not as easy as one may think it is. If you do not have any programming experiance this should be done by a pro. If you need help PM me and i'll give you a quote.

Dear all
Today I found an amazing way to "rewrite URLs" using ASP
it requires minimum ASP skills
I would prefer not to post the code but if you are interested please contact me.

I use their full version and it works like a treat. They're really good about providing help with the rewrite rules on their forum too.

god knows how long i will be spending redoing all the links in my sites lol, but well worth it!
