Hi There.

I have been reading and reading alot stuff regarding seo and all the items that need doing to a page for optmization.

Good title
Keyword dense
New content (using newsfeeds on the homepage and a forum also for new content)
Alt Tags
Backlinks (working on this)

etc etc

I believe I have done all this on my homepage and am working on the rest.
My site gets re-cached by google about 5 times a month so I know I'm getting the crawls for each change.

But despite my best efforts I still can't get any (ANY) ranking for the word 'Mortgage' or 'mortgages'.

I understand that this market is extremely competitive but I would be happy with 10th 15th 30th page just to know I'm getting somewhere.

SO my question is... WHY? I am using Dynamic Submission to check my ranking and I get no results. I only get a position 6 for UKMORTGAGEHELPLINE?

My URL is www.ukmortgagehelpline.co.uk (http://www.ukmortgagehelpline.co.uk)

Thank you for reading me

A quick search on Yahoo for "31,800,000" only turns up about 31 Million pages. Google see about 43.5 Million pages. Simplify that keyword. Try UK Mortgage, or something a little more local. Or maybe "home mortgage" See what I am getting at?

How high do you rank when you do an allinanchor search? If your site doesn't rank high, you need to get more links.

Hi you both
eitemiller I aint sure what you getting at.

eCommando I think its all about links. I think that is bad situation though. When I started searching for backlinks most sites request you have a pagerank of at least 3. That includes the sites to pay for links.
Well how am I supposed to get a pagerank if I can't get links. Catch 22.

Is it a good or bad idea to use software?

Thanks for your reponses so far guys.

I guess what I am trying to say is, you have a lot of competition. Google can find millions upon millions of pages with the keyword "mortgage" in them. It's going to take lots of work and patience to see your page in the top #100 for your keyword.

Hi,
Its right time for link hunting. Since for past three months there were no page rank update. Now webmasters are started to exchange links without seeing PR. But be sure that the quality of the site is important. So Once again its a great time to hunt links.

Give a try.

Is the page rank update geologically ordered. I have a site which was updated on the 10th August which surprise surprise includes a link exchange scheme, its co.uk and hosted in the UK and after that period went from pr0 to pr4...? www.mosquito-media.co.uk

Sorry, another question. As murugan said the site must a quality and of related topic.
Would it be negative or positive to link with other english written websites from around the world, particular American sites?

Thanks

Ian
