I just checked my backlinks and they jumped from 102 to 109. Anyone see any changes in theirs?

I knew the answer before checking, but I did check anyway and no... no changes at all. According to my deepcrawl date the 30th should be the date.

"Muscle chic's botfriend" TFF! OK I take it back. Maybe celebrity death match. Somehow we gotta get the tu tu joc in there. Maybe a tag team?

And about BL's no, nothing.

While we're on it... Hey if they don't update PR and keep showing random samples of BL's... is it worth even looking?

Me, I keep looking for thinking that something's gotta happen. It's like Dazzling Donna posted around the last one, It would seem they have to update the PR display or remove it. When you mouse-over it's telling potential customers the relevance of your page for that query. This is an old song now too... so back on topic.

Celebrity Death Match1: Tu Tu Joc & Muscle Dude Joc vs. Muscle Chick Joc and Calfornia Govenor Joc... A given: Arnold and muscle chick got the mobilty and flexibilty so the big question would be... could you get California Govenor to quit groping muscle chick long enough to fight?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

My bl's are unchanged.
The last update came out of the blue
My site ran really slowly last Thursday for an hour or so
I think
Google probably did a deep crawl.
I am not sure how to detect a deep crawl I can tell when google does a normal crawl from my web site stats.
Perhaps someone can suggest a way to track this?

About the deep crawl you've gotta have a look at your log files. You'll see a decided peak of Googlebot activity on a specific day or days. There's also a PHP script that sends you an e-mail when Googlebot hit's that page. If you were to put that script on a page a couple levels down (one that doesn't get hit by Gbot regularly) it would be a good indicator of your deep crawl.

Ya know, I say no, unless it's for a novelty. I guess if you are a brand new site, you would like to see something other than zero backlinks, then yeah. But for sites that have been around for a few BL updates - then what is the point?

Joc predicted the 30th for a BL update - I wonder when he thinks the PR update (if ever) will occur.

Joc - I knew Ray Charles, I spoke with Ray Charles, and you, sir, are no Ray Charles. Love the avatar bud.

I think the visual will pop around the 30th yes. I'm inclined to say there will not be a PR update. What makes me unsure is the presence of the toolbar PR gauge and it would be so easy for them to make it disapear. Rumors that the PR would be updated quarterly might be possible since the gauge is still there. If quarterly it is now, then this should be the one... maybe... who knows...

If I decided to remove PR, my 1st hit would have been the PR gauge.

Working butt off with links.....
Too right, and I now have one site with over 5,000 and one with 4,900.
Can someone have a quiet word in the ear of the guy with the switch at G.

"scary" thing is that Google seems to be showing less and less of the "true" back links, so SEO GUY (and other folks with bazillions of back links) have a LOT more than this - yikes! ;-)

Well google use to just display backlinks of PR4+ as i recall, but now show a much large portion of links. I wish it just showed PR4+ tho it would be much easier to track decent link exchanges :-P
