Hello,
I have been working for months now trying to get http://www.EIOBoard.com ranked in Google for the keyword in out board. It is not even in the top 1000 rankings and I can't figure out why. Random sites that really have nothing to do with in out boards are ranked but not EIOBoard.
I have tried creating backlinks on as many pages I can find, moving my java scripts to .js files, I can't move my style scripts to .cs files because some are generated with asp code. I have alt tags on all my images and I use in out board quite a bit on the page.
Any comments that could possibably help me would be great!
Thank you!
wow if you take a look at google, they show almost 17 million results for that keyword and really, I checked digialpoints suggestion tool for that keyword and its only searched for maybe 20 times a day. Your better off focusing on ranking for "electronic in out board" which still has a ton of results (6 mill) and "in out board software"
Though, Im not very familiar with in our boards, but im sure there are some other keywords that you could target that potentional customers would type into search engines to find product like yours.

I think you need to check your digialpoints suggestion tool. 90% of our traffic comes from the search term in out board for they click on our adword there and get to our site. Also, google shows that in out board is searched much more inside the adwords software than the other terms.

What sort of link strategy do you currently have?
It seems looking through the results that it is very a generic phrase, the words in out board here kept on bringing up out bord motors for boats/speed boats.

Yeah I've noticed that there are a lot of random results for the term in out board. I have been trying to get as many free link and other links as possible with the anchor text in out board or electronic in out board. I guess I only mentioned in out board as a key word in my origional post but we also are nowhere to be found for electronic in out board too. I just don't understand how some sites could be ranking higher. There must be something that I'm missing...

How old is the site? Is it new with in the last 3 months?
There is normaly a breif period when a new site sporadicaly jumps in and out of Google for different search terms, having said that the search terms that you seem to be targetting at first glance are competitive, go back to your keyword research maybe and check all of the keywords that you would like to realisticaly like to rank for.
For any sort of rankings in Google, link building is core to it. You should devote time out for link building - paid for directories, free directories, write articles and submit them to industry sites and just hunt for sites that will place your link on their page back to yours - there are other ways of gaining large amounts of links in a very short period of time but the long term effects on a site would not be good ;)

This site is about 2.5 years old now, so it is not a new site issue. One day a long time ago we were ranked in Google and we just disappeared and have been unable to rank high since. We have been trying to get as many links to our site as possible. Not many are showing up in the Backlinks but we do have quite a few from download sites and directories.
Any more ideas. Maybe I'm doing something dumb on my page.
thank you

You say the site just dropped out of Google, how long ago did that happen, was anything changed on the site to cause it to drop so suddenly? Was ity maybe after a Google update and they shifted the algo and you dropped?
Do you rank for any other keywords/phrases?
