Hello again,

Obviously getting traffic to your website and converting to sales is the name of the game.

However, I want to know if the level of traffic received impacts on my ranking on the search engines?

It's not something I've seen mentioned in all the articles I've read.

Thanks
Karl

Traffic does not change your rankings.

Traffic does not influence ranking generally, but you can have it.

With one my current sites, I have this exact issue in play. I have immense amounts of traffic, yet i am not even indexed in google, let alone ranked.

I have decided to leverage my traffic, by adding the "trade links with us" urls in more visible places. And I also changed the text to be more inviting to regular visitors.

For example:
"If you are a webmaster or run a blog, link to our site and we will link back to your site!"

Not all visitors are webmasters, but the ones that are will see that quickly and hopefully take action. On our site we have seen a increase in linkback requests.

Thanks
