H1 tags vs. linking: what is more important

I think I have my head content somewhat under control. What is next? Should I start making sure my text is tagged well, or looking into external linking? Or something esle. What's the most bang for the buck at this stage.

My site is text and graphic rich and about 250 pages. The text does support my keywords.

What do you mean by tagging text??? And yes, links are a good way to go, but make sure you read tutorial first!

If you have enough backlinks (links going into your site) with the right kind of kw rich anchor text you can pretty much do what you want with your site...
