Of course everybody sits in wait , waiting to see if google has upped their pagerank, Yes I got a PR10 , but does that really make any difference if you dont get any visitors !!!

I have 3 PR6 sites (recently changed to 6) and I see no more visitors, and my site is well down for the keywords I choose.

I hope the sandbox effect is in fact a reality.

Yeah does wonders for the ego, PR itself doesnt really rank you for anything, its the things that bring about PR that do such as sheer volume link popularity (how many votes) as well as the anchor text in those links.

What PR itself does do for you is increase the frequency of Gbots visits and causes Gbot to crawl much deeper
PR = nice to have, not the world

Even Yahoo is not PR10. Only 1 PR10 site, Google. Google should update PR a little bit more often. It seems like it takes about 1 to 2 months.

there are about 30-35 sites that have PR 10 not 1 ;)

In addition to PR it depends that your backward links are from related sites and anchor text on links also important

PR10's (for interest)

Google
Adobe
Macromedia
Real
HP
Apple
w3.org
...
..

I think google should have a rolling PR , then there would be no waiting.
However Im sure this would cause other quirks (moans) in the system.

I don't think that updating the PR for the toolbar or the even the directory is a top priority for Google. 99% of searchers don't know what PR is and don't care, seeing as their job is to enhance the user experience I would think that it's not a top job for them.

That doesn't mean that it's not updated often, just it's not made public.
