page rank n results

Can someone clarify the difference between page rank and google results...

My ranking has gone down for some of my keywords, which had improved after the last update ( a few days ago) is this because the google dance hadn't completed or can you change your google position trough SEO, content etc every time your site has been indexed ...?

Thanks in advance everyone ....I am learning, I might put a bit of SEO stuff on my site with link to SEO guy.

Page rank is a measurable tool that is used as one of the components when determining you position in the google results. The google results are where you place when you type in the keywords. The reason that pagerank has become so important lately is in a large part because it's really the only tangible tool that we have to determine what Google thinks of us. Pagerank is SUPPOSED to be a measurement of the current page's importance, based on how many other pages link to it and what their importance is.

Cheers SEO Bob, I was just wondering if results for google change on a daily basis through fresh content changing of keywords etc, or is this done with the google refresh and is unchangeable until next refresh.... ( like the pagerank system).

sorry, i originally had a big long answer typed out that answered your question, but my cookie expired, and i just made a quick one when i reposted.

Ok, the google results are always in flux - they change as pages are cached. So no, they aren't static until the next update, they're dynamic.

fantastic thanks seo bob I might put something about seo in my web design page, may offer a basic sort of service to help people and put ya site as a good source of info, and catapault people in your direction depending on what required. I dont think theres many SEO companies round this area. I think I've asked just about every question i was unsure on so I'm all smiles. If you want to suggest anything for my site that would be brilliant ( nobodys said anything in site review) and I know it cant be perfect lol.
