As the topic states, how many links on a links page is too many. And if you have thousands of incoming links where do you put all the links that you have linked back to people.

Thanks

Dan

I heard two different things, but the most modest was 100 links per page. As far as where to put your links to them, just be sure not to name it "link.html" or links.html" or with any other file extension. I named ours "partners" - but whatever. Keep the page somewhat organized - it really gets crowded quick.

IMHO - links beyond the 101 kb Google barrier are worth-less,
the page weight is more important than # of links, you should try and keep all your pages on a 2 digit kb diet.

I aint a big believer in Page Rank, but I think you can get away with alot more links on a higher pr links page than lower. PR hunting webmasters will not link to a page that has PR0 and a 50 outbounds links, but will link to a PR5 site with 300 links.

Just something I have noticed.

But you still need to consider your visitors. Aside from the spiders, some people will actually use the links section so you should make it easy for them. I personally wouldn't put more than 50 links on a page.

Then do u do like multiple pages - ie link page 2 or something and keep going ?

That is one way to handel it. If you keep your link pages narrowed down by specific catagories it will be a long time before you even have to worry about that.

One thing you do want to keep in mind. The more links on a page the less each link becomes worth to the end website. The PageRank passed with each link is diluted the more links you add. Generally it is a good practice to not have more than 50 links on a page to keep PR at usable levels to your trades. This will also make more people agree to link to you.
