Anyone ever made a website out of spite. I've got a company who just charged me $60 for cancelling my service. It seems they snuck a fee into the terms and conditions. Come on, I mean who really reads all of thoses things.
Im really tempted to make a site. "companyxsucks . com" Im sure I'll cool down and change my mine but has anybody hear done this. How'd it work for you.

I have seen sites like www.seo-bitch.com (I didnt make it just so you know) but I dont think that you should go the route of choosing a domain name that has their company name in it, mind you there is a www.paypalsucks.com so I dunno I would just be careful

I used to own semposucks.org - never got round to doing anything with it and let it expire...

Wouldnt have been a spite site though, more a 'lets take the p*ss site" :) - Beth Abernathy has done a much better job than i could have done with SEMPO Tahoe (http://www.sempo-tahoe.com) though...

we got a site called http://www.service-report.co.il/ (don't bother - only Hebrew), where consumers can report on rotten service they got from companies.
it's kinda popular, customers can read other people opinions on the service they got,
report to the Israeli Consumer Organization when too many complaints pile up and get villains out of business.

I love hate sites!

SEO Guy is right you need to be carful using a companies name, because they can sue you over it.

I made this hate site for a company, but I did not do any seo for it. http://www.beiconline.com

Wow, you hit on my specialty. I won't talk about anything I've done, but I can tell you I've never put a complaint site up without detailed (and expensive) consultation with an attorney. For those of you that like these types of sites, here is some information from the paypalsucks guy:

http://paypalsucks.com/domain-name-dispute.shtml

My favorite complaint site is ipods dirty secret (http://www.ipodsdirtysecret.com/)

(After this site went up, Apple resolved the issue that prompted it, but the movie is still great to watch)

It's not a complaint site, but if you want to see how much trouble you can get in when it comes to domain names, read about this unfortunate fellow (http://www.ncchelp.org/) who's name is Nissan and has been using that name in business since Nissan was calling itself Datsun, but still found himself at the wrong end of a $10M suit (all of the above is according to him, of course, but it's a fascinating read).

I understand spite websites. I was new to internet marketing and started using google to promote my sites and affiliate programs. Google's slogan is "Don't be evil". Their customer service was horrible and they don't do a good job at explaining their position on issues. It got to the point where I yelled "I got Scroogled".

www.srcoogled.com was born. I just have it pointing to my website for now, but plan on making it into a complaint center for folks like me who kept getting scroogled and need to vent about it
