the file extension does not have anything to do with PageRank...it is just a measure of connectivity.

because it looks distracting. the point of the forums is the questions and the answers. not what other sites we own ... the forum (at least as I understand it) is meant to be a community and not a virtual billboard.

Answer: There's absolutely no difference in how the search engines rank the pages, maybe Microsoft will give preference to ASP pages in the future, when it gets it's engine perfected. Both ASP and PHP output pure HTML, so as long as you don't have session id's in the url, any engine should be able to come and soak up your content.
