I just bought the SEO BOOK as recommended by this forum. Has anyone else used it to get the guaranteed 3 fold increase in traffic in 90 days? Haven't read it yet, but wondered if there were any sections that folks found particularly effective.

Thanks,

Harvey

Well I did a review on it some time ago. I did know everything that the book already has in it. I really think it's great for a do it your self SEO guide. It's really a great book for people that have no clue what SEO is even.

I would recommend anyone that is new to SEO to buy it. I think however the price went up a bit but should be cheap anyways for new SEO'ers.

One important part is the directories advice, and link building/marketing advice. He also has some great PPC tricks that will help with conversions and click throughs. Overall, the book is worth every penny..just be sure to read it :)

Shawn you are very correct about what he says about Link Building.

But let me give you 1 more tip I don't think he covered in the book. It's kinda hard at first but the links will soar. Let me explain:

I built this Vbulletin skin (very high quality skin worth $40 atleast) and I gave a shot at giving it free to vbulletintemplates.org and the downloads of it were high in just a few days (almost 50 downloads)

What I told them is to keep my credit links (aka Backlinks) as part of the deal. Now since I got tons of downloads I may have tons of links also.

Story Continued:

With my skin being a very high quality skin being free that gave me a chance to gain some awesome amount of backlinks to help me rank better in Google.

I did this to help me rank better in Google and become a very popular resource also.

If you can give a great quality product out free I think people will link to you thus giving you 1-way backlinks (The Best)

People want free information / high quality stuff free and that's what I have gave these people that are looking at skinning there boards.

I believe I do mention giving away free stuff as a linking technique, but it does have many applications more than whatever examples I may have mentioned. if I did not mention it I will quickly add it...it is probably the single best linking idea there is.

thanks for the kind words Shawn & wyrickj
