google from as far as i know is not doing a deep crawl atm. It was probably a fresh bot that visited you. There was a PR update not long ago so it may be in a couple weeks maybe longer. Who knows.

Page Rank can take anywhere from a few weeks like UnXpected has mentions, on up to sixty days. But from what I understand, the day Google comes to your site, it determines then what your page rank is going to be. It just takes so long to show the results.

You can achieve a good Pank Rank on your own just by using
some good internal linking. Also getting some quality
backlinks wouldn't hurt either.

Why not use the free tools at Digital Point (http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/backlinks/) to keep a eye on both your Page Rank, and your backlinks. Hope that helps. ;)

Thats not correct, Google can only decide a pages PR once it has evaluated the links that are pointing to it, seeing as PR is directly related to the amount of indexed pages that point to it.

With the freshbot going around and picking up updated and new pages and Google changing its mind as to what counts as a backlink all the time it can take a lot of work to keep a constant PR.

Thanks for clarifying that Creative666. I remember reading something here on the forum that Google already knows what its going to give you as far as Page Rank, it just takes awhile to show it.

And yes, you are correct, as it comes back to your page again and again, it could change the rank it gave either up in points or down, until it finally settles and posts its results.
