So, I've been in the DMOZ directory for about a month now, and have seen many links come in from other directories that use the DMOZ data, but not Google's Directory.

What's more, I rank great in yahoo, msn etc for my keywords, and am #1 allinanchor in google for "Texas Electric Companies", but am not even in the top 100 list in search results on google. It has been this way for months. I am racking my brain and am starting to just think Google doesn't like me. What is the explanation?

I've been working on that keyphrase for a while now, and to see zero improvement in Google is very aggrevating. Any insight would be very helpful. I mean, I understand if I was not at #1 yet, but down around #20 or something. But I'm NOWHERE to be found.

All you need is patience. There is no rule which Google directory updates will read new DMOZ listings.

For ranking, my website is still nowhere after almost 4 months.

You might want to pay a little more attention to your onpage SEO, you mention the exact phrase just once at the very bottom of your page, and dont even mention the exact phrase in your title, that will give you "some" improvment, but I would assume your getting trounced because of low authority, only way to combat that is to get some "high powered" relevant sites linking to you or tons of low powered relevant sites. I actully have a UK utility provider as a client if you want to swap links PM SEO Evan or SEO Jon and they can hook you up

Jim-

Dmoz is a directory.

Google is a search engine. Google has a directory, it currently feeds from Dmoz.

You can be listed in the Google search engine but may never be listed in Dmoz. Some websites are having a tough time getting into Dmoz. Some we heard of weeks to get into, some months, some years, some never.
