With the formula that you use to determin the value of a link, can you determin how far a single link will effect your SERPs?

Ok, ... first off most work involving determining the value of links is educated guess work. How PR works is common knowledge, but no one knows the weightings. I would settle on gathering a good link base and no worry about the value or the ffect in the serps and all that.

I know that. I have an experiment that I want to do and wanted to see if it could be made more quantative.

I have never tried much of the quantative stuff. there are so many factors, like what your competitors are doing, reweighting the algorithm, + all the factors associated with your site and the link. certainly its a ton of hard work to be good at exactly predicting anything related to seo...

Good point. There are far to many variables to really nail it down.

that's gotta take into concern the # of results and competition, what formula do you refer?
