You are still holding well for SEO right behind some guy!!! I'm sure your other sites are all up there.

I still can't wait till the roll out! MSN - Do it and do it quick before I slip anymore.

DazzlinDonna-

Can you tell what they have changed in the last week. I can't put my finger on it. I don't think its links, on page.... could it be a relevancy thing?

Not sure because it didn't consistently hit all my sites, but the ones that slipped for me now have the old standard seen-on-all-the-search-engines sites now at the top, when before they weren't (even if they are old, ancient, and haven't been updated for a very long time). Disappointing. Still, I did see one other change a couple of weeks ago, where some of my rankings fell, but they came back a few days later. Maybe this time too.

For me its my site that doesn't rank in the top 500 for two keywords (new site) on Google but ranks now on 2nd page for MSN Preview.

I think the change has something to due with a little less of an emphasis on links. One of my terms allinanchor#1 (not my site) in Google, is now on the bottom of the 2nd page in MSN Preview.

Oh Well!

Actually I still do like the MSN Tech Preview SERPs. I findt them quite interesting and relevant, they will do very good in the SE game.

I can't wait for MS to lauch the new MSN Search!

Sorry but now the results are getting stupid!

One of my pages outranks my homepage, the page has zero external links and is on the 2nd page for a very competitive KW.

Makes no sense at all

Thanks
I've struggled more than an hour to try and figure things out on the new hebrew serps... as logic as random...

NEW MSN LAUNCHING THURSDAY. Be there. Aloha.

I'm the first result in the new MSN for both my best keywords! (English to Spanish translator/Spanish translator). I'm nowhere to be found at Google and only #42 at Yahoo (I started optimizing recently), so this is great news for me. At first sight, it looks like the engine focuses a lot on page title and body text. Too bad it is only in beta version and not yet powering their results at their portal!

I thought it was to be launched today (Thursday)? The results on their site are different than the beta.
And what the heck IS the algo? My main search term dropped from #1 on MSN to #12 but some are higher than before.
I will never understand any of this stuff....almost seems random.

So much for that! "omaha"

Those results came from the Spanish version. I didn't think it made a difference since I hadn't checked the "results in Spanish" box, but it does make a difference. So in main results I'm #2 and # 12. I guess it's not too bad, but I prefered the other results!!!

i don't call that stupid, the results should point to an exact page versus root URL. I'm liking MSN because it's clearly not an inbound link #'s race.

it's about the content i think.

Look like it won't launch till next year.........which is not too far away.

The problem is that the homepage is optimized (On page & off) for that keyword and the other page is not.

Well anyway for my main KW I'm up to the #2 spot now. About a week ago I was in the middle of the 2nd page. I'm really liking the results now, watch out number one here I come!

I also noticed that SEO Guy is up at #1 for SEO when I did a search last week he was on the 2nd page as well.

MSN must have tweaked something.

Msn extends overture contract till june2006 so I guess we will know that for now any new msn launch before that time will still contain overture ads:

In the past week or so the results have started to get better for the phrases I watch -- I'm not sure yet what kind of algo tweak was involved, but I could live with it should it go live now. Granted, I'd like some better listings, but at least it is now relevent...more than I can say for Yahoo right now.

I'm finding that all the sites I've been optimizing and developing backlink campaigns for are showing in the top ten. this makes me happy, as most of them are still in the sandbox on Googlet.

Basically anything I have a good "allinanchor" serp shows up almost in the same position on the msn beta.

Also...MSNdude has been posting on Webmasterworld.com. Didn't have time to read through the whole thread though.

All my sites are top ten and better......

They must be counting each individual link and not filtering out similar inbound from same ip, sitewides, and off theame...

All the phrases that i have been targeting over the last few months are now showing top ten on new msn, with many (in fact most) showing no1. I cannot believe my eyes. There i am seo like crazy for google and hardly making a dent and then i check msn and i'm no 1s everywhere. And i have even been appearing in the top ten for the most competitive phrase that i though I would never compete with.

With Yahoo I also have good rankngs (not like this though) and google. Well who knows whats going on. It definitely appears that google is reducing the value of my new links because I out compete all the other sites. But i just wait for my site to age in google and it should come good.

I've been saying since the first beta that the serps would change a great deal, and not to get too excited, you can expect those to change again as well. The way things are going is exactly as i predicted all those months ago, seems that the systems design I have is proving accurate.

The seo efforts have marred search results for ages now, and its become a complete pest to search result providers, as if the results are manipulated, then they lose credibility from the public users. This will of course eventually come to an end. There are many ways to cut out manipulation, I discussed these in previous posts.

Stay tuned and keep your eyes and minds open - and trust me I'm a software developper in search ;)

just a little joke: You know what they say about a software engineer holding a blow torch??? Run for your life!

(when I say seo in my sig, I don't mean it in the way you do! - and please lets not get nasty about this, totally understand that everyone has to earn a living and have nothing against it)

It looks like it is currently redirecting to the older MSN...perhaps an update is occuring behind the scenes (as of the last 5 minutes).

Nevermind. It was very short-lived...just a glitch.
