I am using the Ben Forta construction Kit, and there's a point where you need to verify a data souce. He uses a file called ows.mdb. It runs on Microsoft Access. Well, I log into the ColdFusion Admin, and then I go to add data sources, I list the source as ows, and the driver as Microsoft Access, but when I put in the directory to verify it, I get this error.

Connection verification failed for data source: ows
[]java.sql.SQLException: SQLException occurred in JDBCPool while attempting to connect, please check your username, password, URL, and other connectivity info.
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: SQLException occurred in JDBCPool while attempting to connect, please check your username, password, URL, and other connectivity info.

I have re-installed ColdFusion, and I have changed the directory of the ows folder, but it doesn't make a difference. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just can't seem to interface with any MS Access files.

Look in the ColdFusion MX CD - in one of the folders - and you'll find OWS.mdb. It's there.....

I don't know anything about CF but Widows XP Home edition isn't equipped with a testing server so there's no way to run things locally.
I don't know anything about CF but Widows XP Home edition isn't equipped with a testing server so there's no way to run things locally.
It's true that XP HOME doesn't come with an IIS server, but for anyone who might be interested, my Mum's cousin's neighbour said that you can download an extension pack for WIN NT 4.0 and run it under XP HOME....

Perhaps someone can confirm this?..... wyrickj ??? 8-|
