I am reading all these topics about links and ranking and it seems that linking is probably the best thing to do. However I was wondering if the seo-guy would share how he achieved so many links and any good tools that you use to get so many links so fast in a short amount of time, or even techniques. It would be helpful to the average promoter. Thanks in advanced.

ase,
You will notice that many of my clients give me sitewide links site as the one at www.arizonatools.com which has a PR 7 and 22,000 pages. Down at the bottom of every one of those pages it says "Search Engine Optimization by SEO Guy" why? Because I did a good job on their site and they appreciate it. I get tens of thousands of links this way, it is never mandatory but when you do a good job for someone they will usually be happy to help promote your service.

I also advertise is select places like www.searchenginewatch.com you will see my banner at the bottom left in a rotation, thats thousands more links right there, mind you if it isnt relevant dont bother a link there costs $2200 per month and they dont sell it for PR its advertising.

Also I build tons of free tools that people link to all the time, write tutorials and basically just give away as much free info as I can.

Finally my forum participation is very high at places like www.seochat.com I've been moderating there for over a year so I get thousands of backlinks from archived posts from links in my sig.

My links didnt happen overnight and really the best advise is to provide a kickass website and provide great service and people will honestly be happy link to you, thats the sercret behind the PR algorithm in the first place, its sniffs out PR schemes etc and makes you weight (Read up on sandboxing) but if your a decent site thats been around for a while you will get your just reward.

There is also the buying route which I am not aversed to in fact I have bought a link or 2 in my day if it was relevant which IMO there is nothing wrong with **Google Please dont ban me if Im wrong** but paying $100-$500 for PR 7 sitewide $300-$5000 for sitewide PR 8 can get pricey so in the long run isnt a good strategy.

Heheh that is interesting, the list is so small too. Out of Billions of sites out there, there is a hand full that made it up to the PR10 lol.

Ecommando I dont use mod_rewrite on the Vb 3 because it comes with a built in SE friendly archive function, also I want to actually slow spiders down on here believe it or not, if I did mod_rewrite I would have like 100,000+ hits per day from Googlebot and I dont want her eating up that much bandwidth. lol

[QUOTE=seo guy]ase,

Finally my forum participation is very high at places like www.seochat.com I've been moderating there for over a year so I get thousands of backlinks from archived posts from links in my sig.

I wanted to ask about just that since I started on the forum. The way I even became involved in any forum was because someone suggested it (posting info about your site on forums and signingwith your site) as a way to mention your site, provide a link, etc. Well, I quickly learned I was spamming! And now I can't even go on the first forum I ever entered! (They called me stupid, :o ).

Now, I am sincerely interested in the info you guys have to offer (wish I could reciprocate, but I'm too new...). Everytime I sign a post with a link to my site does that count somewhere in the big search engine sky and hopefully someday improve my postion on the engines?

I need lots and lots of help! I have a quality business and lots of services to offer...and I think my site is good (look at it at incorporate online (http://www.nev-corp.com)). I know we have quality. But, I am new at the internet game...But, I am a quick study and will head any suggestions.

So, can you tell me if my link in my sig helps truly? Where and how can I find quality link exchanges that aren't competitors and thatdon't care if my PR is non-existent (like -10 or something)?

Thank you Thank you Thank you,
Katland

Super...

What does SERPS mean? I am sorry, but I am a beginner to the SEO scene. You guys keep using terms new to me and not defining them...makes me :eyes: ! Hee hee

Anyway, explain serps and then if you want your link on my site, should I create a different category for you or put you in with the general theme of business services directory. My site is for incorporation services, formation of LLCs, trusts, resident agency, etc. Does that matter> where will you put my link?

Sorry for all the questions, darn newbies!
take care,
Kat

So, SeoGuy, what how do you prioritize things:

1) new content
2) quality BL's
3) syndicated articles
etc...

Chachi,

Sometimes when you ask what's more important, it's like asking which came first...the chicken or the egg?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I would say the most important step is know who you're targeting. Who do you want visiting your site? What are they looking for? Then start research and selecting the best related keyword phrases.

Then you can start optimizating your content and working on BL at the same time, because you want to have those keywords in mind while you do that.
