Placement in top 10 on Yahoo just using BackLinks

Just wondering if anyone has seen good placement on yahoo using just backlinks? I have a site that I would say is not very heavy optimised for my keyword. I know that yahoo is heavy onpage that is why i am asking.

I have a site have more backlinks than the #1 & #2.

But I am listed #3. Yahoo focus more on onpage.

I believe different keywords have different algo.
