For a fairly new site that has been around for 5 months and been indexed/spidered once by Yahoo and MSN, and you add new seo-friendly pages, how do you get Yahoo to re-spider it? There are a few links to the site, but not that many. Is there any way to speed up the process or is there anything that I can do?
Get a popular site to link to your new pages is all I can say... Thats how the spiders work. So find a site with that has the busiest spiders and they should help...

Submitting to the engines is a waste of time, if you want your content spidered quickly give links to it from your main page, or get other sites to link to it. Remember, the more links to your site the more chances a bot will find you and crawl you.

Yeah I think linking is the best way to get spidered by yahoo and msn. Also try to have the links go to a variety of pages, not just your home pages. If you have seo dedicated pages have people link to those.
