Q1
Whats everyones thoughts on words vs keyphrases. I'm going for words as this way I think I may pick up some strays along the way etc. If I have web design, newport, .... and some one has web design newport as a phrase which one gets prominence ?

Q2
Has anybody seen any impact in the order of which they put their keywords. I read that they had some importance im a bit doubtful though.

Q3
My final one for today.... Has anyone ever experienced a slap in the face from google for playing with keywords too much ? I heard it can happen so maybe we should chill those of us who are in the sandbox.

:furious:

Hi.
I noticed that when I target the keyword phrase "professional genealogist" the ranking for that goes up but the ranking for my keyword "genealogist" goes down.

Guess, I can't have it both ways with the phrase.

I rank #5 for télécharger jeux , but only #47 for jeux télécharger.
The order does make a difference since my title is in the same order as the #5 rank but has a few words in between the télécharger and jeux.

Thanks for the congratulations.
If you're looking to gain power by becoming a MOD, you will not be a good one since you are biased from the start, you are seeking power.
I was offered to be MOD by SEO GUY and accepted to help them with this excellent Forum.
It's not about power... it's about helping out those who help us.

And we are happy to have you Joc!

To your question sparko you are addressing what is commonly known as proximity
In my experience absolute proximity outweights distal proximity "meaning?"
If your phrase is: Web Design Canada
Then your absolute proximity is: "Web Design Canada"
Your distal proximity can be anything from "canada web design" to
"I was searching the "web" for a "design" company in "canada"

Of course the further apart the words are the less of an effect they have but you get the point.

Now in a perfect world what I do is try to have strong absolute proximity in my title and in the first couple of paragraphs and then sprinkle distal proximity (The elements of my phrase) through the rest of the document and then mention the keyword phrase in absolute proximity somewhere near the end to reaffirm its dominence
