Hi,

I have a directory site at link removed for cosmetic surgery resources. I have heard that having keywords in your domain name is important for getting indexed propertly by Google and I have also heard the exact opposite. Sorry if this is a bit of a newbie question but is there any general consensus on this issue?

Chralie, due to some adult content on your site, I removed the links but I will answer your question as well.

Keywords in the domain name are not nearly as important in the online world as branding, choose a name someone will remember not hyphen hyphen hyphen.

However, in G you will find there is a VERY small benefit, but I mean small! In other engines such as Yahoo the weight is a lot stronger, but I think in time this will diminish as well.

So bottom line, dont wreck your name with keywords, unless of course you get lucky and your name, and keywords are the same thing.
