Probably already covered somewhere BUT, how much more will a link from a PR8 site help over a link off of PR6 or 7?
Free is always good, but you get what you pay for.

Scans, This may not clear the air at all but IMO the mitigating factor would likely be where it originated from. How close to your client base are the sites from which you'll choose? If they're both very similar I haven't a clue but there are a few sites out there selling text links that may give you an approximation of the difference.
You write >>you get what you pay for<< I take it you're single.

It depends on a lot of factors... like the amount of links on the page.
If the PR8 has 50 links and the PR6 has 3... It's hard to say.

Dear All,
Would you mind telling me the reasons why my pageranks have been drawn badly within a week? Many pages used to be ranked in 1st or 2nd page of Google for some months. Now all have changed. I think I did follow Google's Rules. Thanks for your advice.
Best Regards,
Henry

Henry, Do you intend "Page Rank" (the little green bar), or "Page Rank" AKA SERPS (your actual search results)?

Im pretty sure hes assuming pagerank to mean the SERPS not the actual PR of the site
Henry the Search engine results pages are jumping all around right now

Dear Dilligaf and Morgan,
Thanks a lot for replying me. I am sorry for not mentioning things clearly. Yes, what I really meant is SERPs. Actually my little green bar has dropped slowly since February after stopping using PPC(adwords). I am not really surprised with that. But what my SERPs have drawn makes me panic. Just within 3 days I cannot find my SERPs in Google search engine at all. I have no visitors coming from Google. Would you mind suggesting me how to get back to google please? Does it work if I reuse PPC (adwords) or any other methods? Thank you very much again, Morgan and Dilligaf.
Best Regards.
Henry

Henry, Google is all about links. I checked your back links (people linking to you) and Results 1 - 2 of about 3 linking to www.thaishopcentre.com/. Maybe you've had a few people drop your link, there's also been much discussion as to whether links coming from pages titled links.htm count. Hope that helps.

I refuse links from pages called links.xxx , link.xxx or any non-themed page name. My page links.htm and links_a-z.htm would not show on a friends site's backlinks. All other link page were showing (3 out of 5).
The kicker is that links and links_a-z were my oldest link pages and had a higher PR, no reason that these would not show. Then a thread about the same thing.
I renamed my links_a-z to links_games, even put a 301 ont the old file and guess what. It's there now. Like links_keyword means someting and relevant, but just links is crap.
I did modify my links.htm page to point to my other links pages because the internal BL do count since this page is relevant to your site, it's part of it.
So BL from a non keyword links page is worth bogus for BL but is ok for internal BL.

Is that in some way a benefit though, as links would be pointing to us and we would get the PR but they wouldnt...
How could I be so evil lol, I must rename mine - just had a shock when I renamed one and lost all PR, not a big deal I know I'd get it back but still I needed one page as a temptress if you like for those who stipulate a PR rating for exchanging links..

It's gonna regain it's PR after 2 updates. Thats what it took for mine.
Wen't half way on the first (PR3) than full on the second (PR5).
You'll have to do it eventually, when more people will know. I refuse most link requests because of their page name.

Thanks Jocelyn, it's always good to see personal experience. I honestly had my doubts until now (yes I was told otherwise soz, SEO Kid). So links_games.xxx is cool?

Dear Dilligaf,
Thank you very much for your help. Links must be very important. It is sure that my page ranks are getting down because of few links.
Thanks again.

Henry
