I have researched my keywords yet i still see pages with lower pr and fewer backlinks rating higher on google, is this normal?

Are you using the right anchor text?

It could also be the sandbox issue.

PR and backlinks are not always the rule for a ranking, if it was so, why bother making the site nice, lets just get backlinks. Also PR and backlinks displayed by google are old now. Even if they were new, they are psychotic anyway and unacurate in determining anything.

im actually fluttering between 8th and 7th so its on the first page for my phraze in my country the ancor text is ok and i sometimes include title text,
but i have seen instances where other search engine result pages are included higher than a real page on google, yahoo and hotbot - lycos

eg, im placed 7th with 47 backlinks, suddendly a page from a search on another search engine ranks higher pushing me down yet they show zero backlinks and lower page rank

i dont think its sandboxing but im starting to think it might be pages using mod rewrite and havnt been updated by the pr toolbar yet but are linked to high ranking sites

Yea im learing quallity content and researching the sites im promoting helps and sometimes count more than backlinks thanks

From what I understand, you could be affected by the 'sandbox' which devaules newer sites
