That was an excellent tutorial. It helped me alot. thanks! I did have one question though but Im not sure if it pertains to this. I am having a hard time validating my HTML. (when I make the requested changes it messes up my page, except for the alt"" tag which I know I need) My question is, will my page not beign validated hurt my rankings when the spider crawls my page? If this is not the right place to ask can a moderator please move my post.
Thanks
Mark
If this is not the right place to ask can a moderator please move my post.
The best is to make a thread and ask the question ... making a new thread in the proper section will lead to more answers. I can move a thread, but not a post.
It depends on the error you get... some will have minor effects and some errors may prevent a proper crawl of the page. It's best if you can verify that the error is minor, look at the page with a spider simulator like lynx. You can also look at the cache if the pages were updated, if the cache is good, well the bad code is not too nasty. Getting rid of it is the best, but some things will never validate, depending on the validator.
