Reading through the news this AM and saw that MSN is going to be rolling
out paid search (http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/050316/microsoft_paid_search_4.html)

Maybe the internet arena won't be G's playground anymore?

Yeah it will be an interesting watch to see how it all plays out. How do you think MSN could gain footing on Overture or Google? I think the interface they set up for the advertisers will be a huge factor

It's always good to have competitions. Yahoo's Overture may lose MSN as a network partner and may decrease traffic by 15-20%.

Customer service would put them light years ahead of G, IMHO.

If they take the time to build "customer relations" with their clients, it will be more of an enjoyable experience for advertisers (and publishers)

MSN continues to improve, at least I seem to be getting a lot more traffic from them. This news can only help competition, I know I am interested in their version of Adwords, though I think we'll have to wait some time yet to see it rolled out.

Not sure why?
Maybe those are better "testing grounds" for their program?

I checked out some other related links and found the first 2 paragraphs to be interesting in this article (http://www.thestreet.com/_yahoo/tech/kevinkelleher/10211683.html)

What other publicly traded company gets away with that?

Has anyone seen a "roll-out" date?

They are having some sort of meeting with G and Y to discuss it this Wednesday.

I think that is the same day they are planning on rolling it out in limited markets.
I checked out their website, and they are already offering code to put MSN search
on websites.
This is interesting to me, since they seem to be looking to replace some Google search bars on independant publishers..

roll out date can be any time 6 months from now.
you know these projects always stretch longer than expected :)

I think its the greatest idea. Why not capitalize on something that generates a ton of revenue for your competitors

GG pays such a tiny percentage to publishers that MSN can take the market.
