Hi, everyone, in the meta keyword tag, is this considering a spamming to crawlers?

Manufacturer, Manufacturers, Asia Manufacturer, Asian Manufacturers

Can i permute my keywords differently? Will I get panalysed by the SE?
thank you.

The meta keywords is useless for most popular engines. Some old ones use it.
I would not waste time on this... throw a few relevant words in it if you like.

so it's not worth to pay attention to it?
I really would like to know if it's a spamming no matter it's worth or not.

IMO, no it's not spamming, in fact I'd recommend it for all permutations that are listed prominantly on your page. Personally I'd eliminate the space before the comma and use lower case eg - manufacturer, manufacturers, asia manufacturer, asian manufacturers (some time ago it had been recommended for Inktomi, I don't think it's changed) It may not matter, but it can't hurt and I believe Yahoo/Inktomi still utilize meta information.

I'm not totally positive so if you know tis to be so, please confirm. If you know it to be otherwise please refute.

It seems like google recognize both the singular and the plural words. When I type in a keyword, google results highlight both versions of the words.

Yes ecomando that is a function of keyword stemming. Smoke can ranking for smoking smokes etc.

Cheesehong, that is not spamming. The rule of thumb is dont place anything in there that is not mentioned on your page

Here is Inktomi's guideline

"Use a "keyword" meta-tag to list key words for the document. Use a distinct list of keywords for each page on your site instead of using one broad set of keywords on every page. (Keywords do not have much effect on ranking, but they do have an effect.) "

There is an article that you can read if you are a member of Planet Ocean, I would post it but it was faxed to me an to long to type. It is found in the May 2004 issue under year five issue five page three. The title is Does The Keywords Metatag Affect SE Ranking? They did some testing on it and then gave their results

This is what they say for the conclusion:
1. Start using a keywords metatag.
2. Put your most effective keyword right at the beginning.
3.Either use your keyword alone or else fill the keyword metatag with insignificant (but not irrelevant) tmers following your main keyword. Refrain from inserting your second, third, and fourth favorite keywords into the tag as instic might outherwise suggest.

The test was done mostly for Google and Yahoo and this is what they are referencing to do.

Just two cents that I read a while ago

META keywords are still definitely used by Yahoo. Just that fact alone should have you pay attention to using the keyword META string.
