Rumors about less than PR 4 backlinks are worthless

I have been reading lot's of Google's conspiracy theory lately so I just want to check with you guys first. I would like comments from people that can really are pro's like seo guy, jocelyn or any other moderator from this great forum.

I know about a "hoax" that has been created around the Internet about Google's not giving any weight to backlinks from sites that has a PR less than 4 but now this rumor has been discussed in other sites that I thought that had real anwers and they are making theories and reasonings for this theory.

Do you guys really think that maybe in the future will have a flag that will give weight to the backlinks according to the PR of the site?

That's an old rumor... and it wasn't true then either (smiley here). Google used to display only the PR4 and above so most just kinda figured the others didn't count.

Yeah until Google realyzed they were helping the SEO dudes finding good PR juicy links and changed that to show the most crappy links for the link: command... lol

Thank you guys for your quick response. But now I'm somewhat confused. Specially with Jocelyn. Do you mean you disagree? or better do you think that this is true or on the contrary you are just adding up that Google is doing this on purpose just to make the Seo job a little harder?

The sad thing is the rumor has been posted on some major forums and people are starting to believe it again. :mad:

What I'm saying is that Dilligaf is 100% right, link: used to show only PR4 as backlinks before. I'm also saying that he is right about all links big or small with PR count if they are indexed. What I'm also saying is that google used to help us by showing the PR4 and more in the link: command, so they changed it to list low PR pages.

Ok now I understand you jocelyn and btw this outfit is the one I like the most about your repertoir it shows you have a good hearth.

And yeah I agree with everyone about this is just that is sad that people that you thought were credible are being indulged in this kind of conspiracy theory. And also that explain why my domain that is a PR 4 only shows 3 backlinks on google.
