hi all,

if you were optimizing for green widgets, would you name the company's "about us" page liek this - green-widgets-about-us.html?

or would aboutus.html be more appropriate?

and if the "aboutus.html" page is best, how do i go about taking an existing site with every single page listed as green-widgets-service.html and green-widgets-contact-us.html to "aboutus.html and contactus.html" and not destroying my decent rankings?

thanks in advance for your views!

Hi Skattabrain, no I wouldn't name every file like that because I wouldn't look at it as necessary and it could POSSIBLY be over optimization but if you have decent rankings already then why bother changing the file names?

Remember that changing all of you file names will reduce your internal PR and will take a few updates to bring it back. It's pretty much up to you as to whether or not it's worth doing.

hahahha lord of the rings quote here:

"Never ask an elf for advice as they will tell you both no and yes at the same time."

ha ha... good points though.

what if i leave the old files there? will that maintain PR? keeping them listed in a site map is not a big deal to me.

If you look spammy you will have a harder time getting links too.
I don't like 30 chrs filenames.
